"It's Cool to be Kind" Program

Preparing Students for the Workplace

Cool2BK_logo_greyscale[1].GIFThe Kindness RevolutionTM is pleased to offer our "It's Cool to be Kind" Program for all student levels.  The program presents to students the exact same tenets that we teach to our business members.  These tenets are the basis with which to eliminate indifference in the workplace through practicing values such as dignity, respect, courtesy, and kindness.

Furthermore, each participating teacher, counselor and student will be taught the importance of recognizing and acknowledging kindness as it occurs in their schools and in their communities.  Our goal is to teach the importance of respectful behavior in our schools and communities and how it can impact the next steps on paths to further education or employment. We are very honored to be invited to numerous schools and look forward to making a difference with this program.

It’s Cool to be Kind (Cool2BK) is a student initiative of The Kindness Revolution™ intended to raise the awareness of respectful behavior to students of all ages.  The ultimate purpose of Cool2BK is to teach students that their opportunities will be enhanced as a result of education and respectful behavior. By learning that their school experiences are directly aligned with their future employment environments, students are taught to do their work with dignity, to treat their superiors and peers with respect, to show courtesy in their interpersonal communications, and to behave with kindness. These tenets (Dignity, Respect, Courtesy, and Kindness) are the same tenets that are taught to business customer service leaders by The Kindness Revolution™ and form the basis of Cool2BK curriculum.

Cool2BK consists of four one-hour modules, each one dealing with the tenets described above. While completely self-contained, Cool2BK can be incorporated with or within other curriculum, classes, or learning experienced.  It is designed to be modified to fit the needs of particular groups (i.e. non-secular, secular, classroom, family, etc).

Cool2BK encourages discussion and interaction between facilitator and student.  As a result, the program is easily expanded or contracted to fit the time constraints of most programs.

Student modules for each tenet (Dignity, Respect, Courtesy, and Kindness) are available upon request at no charge. Current modules are aimed at Middle School and High School students; the Middle School module is easily modified for younger students.  Support coaching via volunteers is available as well.
